Shravanabelagola (Karnataka), May 7, 2005: Acharya Sri Gunanandiji Maharaj opined that “the Sanskar that are taught to the children during their younger ages will play a vital role in shaping their personality”. He was speaking on the occasion of the valedictory function of the ten day Summer Religious camp. This camp was organised at Shravanabelagola as part of the Mahamasthakabhisheka celebrations. Smt.Sheela Anantharaj, Mysore, inaugurated the camp.
The camp was held under the guidance of His Holiness Swasti Sri Charukeerthi Bhattaraka Swamiji, Shravanabelagola. Speaking on the occasion he called upon the parents to concentrating more on seedling the religious sanskar amongst the children.
More than 100 children from all over Karnataka attended the camp. The following activities were organised: prarthana, Ashta Vidha Archana, religious discourses, chanting of Jaina hymns (Niranjana Stuthi, Bhaktamar Stotra), sanskriti parichay, question answer sessions, dances, arathi, bhajans and Tirth yatra. During the Tirth Yatra the children visited the following Jain pilgrim centres: Shravanabelagola, Jinanathapura, Markuli, Hongere and Kambadahalli. – Jain Heritage Centres News Service (JHCNS)
