Amruthapura: It is about 10 Kms from Tarikere on Tarikere-Birur road. 6 Kms from the main road. There is a 800 year old Hoysala temple dedicated to Amrutheswara.
Ayyanakere: It is a large tank called Dodda Magoda Kere to the West of Sakkrepatna. It is surrounded by high hills. There are a few Hoysala sculptures.
Baba Hayat Mir Khalander/Dattatreya Peetha: It is situated at a distance of 30 Kms north of Chickamagalur town. There is a well known cave of laterite stone which is believed to have been sanctified by the residence of Dattatreyaswamy and Baba Hayat Mir Khalander. It is a sacred place for Hindus as well as Muslims.
Huligere: This place is about 23 Kms to the south of Kadur. It has a Veereshaiva Monastery called Hulligere Dodda Mutt. This mutt has fine carved door frames and pillars.
Kemmanugundi: Once the favourite haunt of the Mysore Maharajas, it affords some panoramic views of the landscape.
Muthodi: A game sanctuary.
Kudremukh: A mining town, named after a horse shaped hill, it is a trekker’s delight with rich flora and fauna. Caves are waiting to be explored.
Tourist Attractions: Karnataka’s Highest mountain Mullayannagiri (1925 m), Babudangiri (Chandradrona Parvatha – 1894 m), Kudremukh (1895 m) are in this district. Kudremukh National Park, Sringeri Mutt, Balehonnur Peetha Of Veerashaivas, Horanadu Annapurneshwari, Kalasheshwara temple, Kemmangundi hill resort, Dathathreya Peetha, St.Joseph Cathedral, Bhadra Reservoir and Sanctuary and Several Mosques.
