Shravanabelagola (Hassan District, Karnataka), November 8, 2005: Minister for public works and energy, Government of Karnataka and the State president of the Mahamasthakabhisheka Mahotsava, Sri H.D.Revanna has assured full support from the Government of Karnataka towards the success of the Mahamasthakabhisheka of Lord Bahubali at Shravanabelagola. He was speaking in his address to the fleet of audience assembled at Shravanabelagola during the National committee meeting of the Mahamasthakabhisheka on the 8th and 9th of November, 2005. Her informed that the central and state government have released Rs.90 and 25 crores respectively for the event. He also informed that the state Government would be releasing another 35 crores for various developmental activities to the taken up.
Disbursal Of Funds: He read out in detail the allocation of the funds for various developmental projects to be taken up during the event. They are as follows: Rs. 5 Crores for the upgradation of the hospitals at Chanarayapatana and Shravanabelagola, Rs. 15 Crores for providing drinking water facilities to the Shravanabelagola town through the Hemavathi river, Rs. 10 Crores for providing electric facilitiesand Rs. 1.5 crores towards the construction of a modernised library.
He said that orders have been issued to complete all the temporary and permanent accommodation facilities by the end of December. He disclosed the state Governments proposal to conduct cultural programmes on all the 12 days of the event from the artists of national and international reputation. Revanna called upon the officials of more that 20 departments of the Government to strive hard for the success of the event.
Mr.Revanna had many interactions with His Holiness Charukeerthi Bhattarakhji, Sri D.Veerendra Heggdeji and other members of the national committee. – Jain Heritage Centres News Service (JHCNS)
