Shravanabelagola, October 22, 2005: Swasti Sri Charukeerthi Bhattarakha Swamiji the Pontiff of the Shravanabelagola Jain Mutt called upon the Jain writers to undertake a much focused study of the Ancient Jaina Literary works so as to bring to light more and more unexplored literature. He felt that a much focused study would help in educating the present generation about the ancient Jaina works. He further called upon the Kannada writers to translate more and more Jain works in Sanskrit and Prakrit to Kannada so as to enlighten the Kannada readers about the ancient Jain literature. He was delivering his ashirvachan during the All Kannada Jain literary conference at Shravanabelagola organised on the occasion of the Mahamasthakabhisheka of Lord Bahubali.
He informed the gathering that the voluminous Dhavala translation works into 40 volumes under taken by the Digambar Jain Mutt, Shravanabelagola is under progress and also assured that the Jain Mutt would focus on translation of other works into Kannada. – Jain Heritage Centres News Service (JHCNS)
